The Chapel of Senhor da Pedra, built on a rock and hexagonal in plan, may date back to the 17th century. It is believed that it originated as an ancient pagan cult and was later converted to Christianity.
Inside, it has a high altar, two side altarpieces in gilded woodcarving in the Baroque/Rococo style, with an image of the Lord of the Stone – a Crucified Christ – standing out.
The popular cult of Senhor da Pedra is manifested in the pilgrimage on Holy Trinity Sunday, considered one of the biggest and most charismatic in the county, which takes place on the Sunday before Corpus Christi.
