Located in the 12th century, with significant renovations in the 18th century, here stood the Monastery of Santiago de Barbadelo. Inside, the simple altarpiece is dominated by a baroque statue of Santiago the pilgrim. It was declared a National Monument in 1976 and a Cultural Heritage Site in 1980, and it is one of the most admired churches on the Camino de Santiago.
