The 68th edition of the festivities in honour of Santa Cristina, patron saint of Meadela, will be held in this former parish, which is now part of the Union of Parishes of Viana do Castelo, on 1, 2 and 3 August 2025.

Highlights:

  • The liturgical day of Santa Cristina is celebrated on 24 July;
  • On 25 July, the 31st Colloquium “Meadela a Pensar a Comunidade” will be held;
  • On 1 August, the Mayordomía will visit the city of Viana do Castelo, and at 9 pm the 34th Interassociative Arraial will take place, with a musical show;
  • On 2 August, at 5:30 pm, the Meadela 2025 Parade, at 10 pm the 64th Festival Folkloric of Meadela, and at midnight fireworks, followed by entertainment with DJ;
  • On August 3, at 10.30 am. Solemn Celebration of the Eucharist, with veneration of Santa Cristina, at 3 pm. entrance of the Philharmonic Band, at 5 pm. Solemn Procession in honor of the Patron Saint, at 9 pm. entrance of the Philharmonic Band, until 12 pm. parade and farewell of the Bands. The festivities close with a fireworks show.
