The Festas da Senhora das Neves are considered one of the biggest village festivities in the district of Viana do Castelo.They take place in the first week of August and take place in Neves, a tripartite place between Barroselas, Mujães and Vila de Punhe. August 5th is dedicated to the patron saint and observed as a local holiday. That morning, the highlight is the imposing procession, with numerous and showy altars and the Choir of the Virgins. In the afternoon, Auto da Floripes is performed, a multi-century play that opposes Turks and Christians and is a reference in national and international popular theater. On other days, crowds come to Largo das Neves to enjoy an eclectic religious, cultural and recreational program.
