Between the hustle and bustle of the city and the large pedestrian area of the historic centre, bordering the Arco da Porta Nova, Campo das Hortas is a square with a garden that, in this transitional setting, stands out for the surprising bucolic touches conveyed by the fusion of vegetation and the presence of water, so typical of Braga. The garden, roughly triangular in shape, rises above the pavements and is delimited by walls and strips of grass and trees. It is centred by an imposing fountain from the end of the 16th century, surrounded by the street and the three geometric flowerbeds that exuberantly adorn the space.

Complementing the Jardim do Campo das Hortas and adjacent to it, crossing Rua Andrade Corvo, there is a green area covered with grass that rests on the wall of the Jardim dos Biscainhos and constitutes another pleasant corner.
