Included in the panoply of archaeological sites visitable in Braga, the Núcleo Museológico de São Martinho de Dume was opened in 2006 with the aim of preserving, enhancing and publicizing the archaeological ruins existing there, mainly the remains of the Suevian basilica of Dume and the aforementioned sarcophagus of Saint Martin.
The creation of this museological unit, under the supervision of the Parish Council of Dume, aims to preserve, enhance and disseminate the archaeological ruins there, with particular emphasis on the remains of the Swedish Basilica of Dume, as well as the Sarcophagus known as S. . The visit will extend to the set of ruins beneath the current main church and its churchyard. With a view to welcoming diverse audiences, an explanatory leaflet and a set of playful-didactic sheets are available, with different levels of complexity, particularly aimed at school groups.
