The preparation of sweet regueifa is strongly associated with the Easter season in Santa Maria da Feira, since in other times, when the pão de ló was considered a luxury only available to the wealthiest families, sweet regueifa was an excellent delicacy for most Feirenses.

Throughout the municipality there are several pastry shops and confectioneries that continue to make sweet regueifa throughout the year. On this route, Santa Maria da Feira presents this famous delicacy, offering the experience of enjoying it with butter, cheese, ham, jam or even with olives and washed down with red wine or Porto, or other non-alcoholic options such as tea, coffee or barley.

Sweet regueifa goes well with almost everything!
