Fogaça is a traditional sweet bread from Santa Maria da Feira, whose shape stylizes the castle’s keep with its four towers. A certified Protected Geographical Identity product, fogaça is made daily in several production houses in the municipality and differs in the way it is prepared and placed in the oven.
A visit to Santa Maria da Feira can only be completed with a taste of this landmark of local gastronomy, available in the area’s bakeries, and in some of them it is possible to follow and participate in the production process.
