Located in the 12th century, with important reforms in the 18th century.

The Monastery of Santiago de Barbadelo was located here. Inside, the simple baroque altarpiece in the shape of the pilgrim Santiago presides.

It was declared a National Monument in 1976 and a Site of Cultural Interest in 1980, and is one of the most admired churches on the Camino de Santiago.

The originality of its iconography stands out: lions, birds and snakes linked to medieval bestiaries, and complex human representations in porticos, tympanums, capitals…
