Integrated into the urban fabric of the centre of Lixa, where an important fabric fair was held, these two monuments reflect the urban configuration of the 17th and 18th centuries of this ancient “street”, the Roman Road from Bracara Augusta to Tongobriga that passed through here.
The chapel, founded in the first half of the 17th century, and the house from the end of this century or the beginning of the 17th, would have been extensively reformulated during the 19th century, giving it the morphology we see today, which have been carried out by the family of the important writer and philosopher from Felgueira, Dr. Leonardo Coimbra. You can discover his work and visit the permanent exhibition dedicated to him at the Casa da Cultura Leonardo Coimbra
