The origin of this recipe, which seems to go unnoticed by the most inattentive palates, may be in a man from Braga who emigrated to Brazil and began to prepare in his restaurant a very common dish in Lusitanian lands: rice with duck. As duck did not do justice to the Brazilian palate, he replaced it with chicken and chorizo and from there arose the recipe that would change his business.
We cannot say that this recipe is the original, as it is more likely that it was inspired by some other custom of Lusitanian cuisine, such as the fact that Portuguese families use the remains of meat from Portuguese stew to prepare a risotto, to which they only have to add some vegetables.
