Santa Maria da Feira is a city in the northern region of the country, belonging to the Metropolitan Area of Porto and the district of Aveiro. It stands out for its imposing Castle, with origins in the 10th century, the beautiful 18th-century Main Church, the 16th-century Church of Mercy, or simply relaxing, strolling, and getting to know the beautiful Historic Center.
The most famous festival is the Festa das Fogaceiras, full of tradition and devotion, which takes place annually on January 20th, with the highlight being the parade of the fogaceiras girls carrying the fogaças on their heads, and the grand Medieval Journey, where the entire city seems to travel back in time to the medieval era with many activities, shows, and entertainments, attracting a large number of visitors. Santa Maria da Feira is equipped with excellent infrastructures such as Europarque, a congress center with various cultural events, and also other museum collections displayed in the Paper Museum, the Lóios Museum, or the Santa Maria de Lamas Museum.
