The 46th edition of the Póvoa de Varzim International Music Festival (FIMPV) will be held this year from 11 to 27 July.
This edition has a novelty: two concerts in the Parque da Cidade, on 27 July. The shows will be, at 6:00 p.m., with António Saiote (clarinet) and António Victorino d’Almeida (piano), and at 9:30 p.m., with the Portuguese Symphonic Band, conducted by Francisco Ferreira, and Raúl da Costa and Kátia Guerreiro.
In addition to commemorating the 50th anniversary of the elevation of the City, the FIMPV will also evoke the 50th anniversary of April 25 at different times. First, at the Opening Conference on July 11 at 9pm, where Rui Vieira Nery will focus on a century of freedom songs even before April 25.
Although the event remains a Classical Music Festival, always with major premieres in Portugal, it also covers other musical genres, such as jazz and fado.
