Today, crafts are officially recognized as the great engine of development at various levels, due to their enormous potential and the visibility of their direct and indirect impacts on the local economy. In crafts, opportunities for legitimacy and social and artistic recognition can be recognized, due to the possibility of disseminating and promoting the products of the region and the possibility of contributing to strengthening the attractiveness of the territory and, at the same time, expanding its tourist potential.

In this way, the Matosinhos City Hall, in collaboration with Andarte, promotes the Matosinhos Handicraft Fair – FAMA – Matosinhos Handicraft Fair twice a year. One edition takes place at the same time as the Lord of Matosinhos festivities and the other edition takes place at Christmas at Jardim Basílio Teles.

Those who visit FAMA will be able to appreciate and acquire products created with the revitalization of arts and crafts in mind.
