The sixth edition of the Guimarães Clássico Festival will take place from 12 to 17 August. As is tradition, the festival once again focuses on chamber music for string instruments and continues to focus on the new generation of young musicians, providing opportunities to improve and perform alongside renowned artists. Five concerts will be presented, the vast majority of which will be prepared in Guimarães during the festival with artists from various countries.

This year, the festival will delve into new music, giving young composers the opportunity to participate in a workshop led by Karl Fiorini and which, together with the Quirón Quartet, will explore new compositions written for string quartet. The workshop aims to bring performers and composers together, encouraging dialogue between both parties and discovering better ways to approach current music. This workshop will take place from 10 to 13 August and will culminate in a concert as part of the Guimarães Clássico Festival.
