On the second Saturday of August, the Festivities of the Virgin Pilgrim begin in Pontevedra, in honor of the province’s patron saint. A date that marks the beginning of the city’s grand week.

The Alameda and Avenida da Raíña Vitoria are filled with fair attractions, concerts, and shows that bring music and fun to the streets and squares of the historic center, which become the perfect stage: Plaza de España, Plaza de Teucro, and Plaza da Ferraría, among others. Additionally, the program is complemented by sports and religious events. These festivals offer a wide variety of activities and events designed for all audiences. Highlights include the flower battle, the procession of the Virgin Pilgrim and the floral offering, the fireworks, and the free street concerts and shows.
