The Imaginarius Festival reaches its 23rd edition in 2024, from 23 to 26 May.

In the year in which Portugal celebrates 50 years of democracy, the Imaginarius festival, which chooses the street as a privileged stage for multiple transformations, like the filmmakers of April, could not “appropriate” another theme for the 2024 edition other than that of Freedom.

Individual and collective freedom, artistic and creative, cultural and religious, of thought and expression, of movement and circulation, of identity and gender.

Freedom is often threatened, questioned, examined, gagged or simply annihilated in different geographies.

Freedom that urgently needs to be preserved, strengthened, rescued or conquered.

Freedom that follows the Dream (theme of the 2023 edition) and precedes Progress (theme of the 2025 edition).
