The Market of Discoveries aims to be a space for entertainment and conviviality, created with the aim of bringing residents and visitors closer to habits and customs typical of the Age of Discovery. In this way, it is intended to recreate an environment that will transport us to Vianna da Foz do Lima, at a time when the port of this town assumed an important role in commercial exchanges, thus exploring cultural and gastronomic diversity.

Since 2023, the Market of Discoveries has been held at Fort Santiago da Barra and its surroundings. The objective of this event is to achieve recreational, educational and commercial objectives and to promote the city of Viana do Castelo.
