From July 9 to 15, the Municipal Pavilion will be the venue for the Boccia World Cup Póvoa de Varzim 2024, organized by Cerebral Palsy – National Sports Association (PCAND) and Boccia World Cup, in collaboration with the Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim and with the support of the Portuguese Federation of Sports for People with Disabilities and the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth.

Admission is free, without the need to collect tickets in advance, so all people and interested parties are invited to attend the matches free of charge to support our athletes.

89 athletes representing 25 countries will be present at this World Championship: Argentina, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong (China), Hungary, Ireland, Israel. The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand and Ukraine. In other words, some of the best sportsmen and women in the world of sport will be present to represent their countries, and more than 400 agents will be taking part in the event, including sports assistants, coaches and other technicians, referees, classifiers, the organising committee, representatives and volunteers.

Remember that our city has been recognised as the Portuguese capital of Boccia since 1996, as demonstrated by the already long list of excellent competitions that the Municipal Pavilion has hosted, with great success, in recent years.
