The first weekend of August marks the return of the San Cristóbal festivities in Carballo. The Carballo neighborhood hosts street parties, vermouth sessions, orchestras, mobile discos, and the traditional procession of decorated vehicles on Sunday the 4th. All kinds of wheeled vehicles invade the streets of Carballo on Sunday. Adorned with flowers, plants, and images, they join the San Cristóbal procession that each year enlivens the neighborhood festivities and is felt throughout the town. Although everyone eagerly awaits the Sunday parade, the celebrations in honor of the patron saint of travelers and drivers begin on Saturday. The first day’s program includes reveille and morning fireworks from early hours; a solemn mass in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes and Safe Journey; followed by a vermouth session with an orchestra. In the evening, the street party. On Sunday, right after the mass, it will be time for the procession to which any wheeled vehicle can join.
