They are held between 14 and 25 August in honor of the patron saint of the city, San Roque. They are declared of National Tourist Interest and also of cultural interest due to the varied program of activities that take place annually and the great religious and traditional content of the festivities. The influx of visitors is high especially on the days of traditional events such as the balloon launching and the caneiros.
The balloon is launched at midnight on August 16. The caneiros are held on August 18 and 25 and consist of a river tour along the Mandeo River that is full of decorated boats that carry the pilgrims upstream to enjoy a party in the countryside that lasts all day.
