Muras is preparing the VIII Romaxe Artesá da Chaira, which will take place on May 25 in the recreational area of Veiga with the collaboration of the Vice-Presidency of the Provincial Council of Lugo
The recreational area of A Veiga will host around 25 craft stalls, with various activities designed to liven up the space and encourage public participation and interaction. These include a display by the Insúa Women’s Association that revived the traditional cultivation and work of flax, a leather workshop with Tres Caracoles making accessories with artisan nets from Illa da Estrela and basketry applied to interior design and lighting with the artisan and designer Julia de la Cal from La Parabólica, as well as a talk by the publicist Luís do Río, a scholar of sancosmeiros, who are very prominent on social networks. The Rural Women of Muras will also show the wood and leather pieces they make in the craft workshop courses they teach throughout the year.
As for the musical programme, Romaxe Artesá da Chaira will feature performances by Fillas de Casandra, the voice and percussion group Pan Sen Fron and the Mekanika Rolling Band, and musical shows by Peter Punk and Brais das Hortas, aimed at children.
