The oven “O Forno”, from which St. Mariña was miraculously taken out by St. Peter, is located in a wasteland on the perimeter of the Armeá castro and is supposed to be a Christianized castrexo sanctuary with its large “Pedra Formosa” adorned with a snake.
In the 14th century, a lady of the House of Figueroa ordered the construction of a church, known as the Basilica of the Assumption, which was never finished, but its walls show what would have been a simple one-nave church over a crypt with a pointed vault. In the crypt there are medieval tombstones, some of Visigothic tradition.
