It became known in 1810 after being included in the Nomenclature Dictionary of Villaroel and, later, by Sebastián de Miñano in 1826. Its use dates back to Roman times and since the Middle Ages it belonged to the monks of the Monastery of Oseira who obtained it in 1162. After being confiscated by the Government in 1836, it has been private property since its confiscation. It has 3 springs that flow at 34º, 31º and 21.1º. Its waters have been declared of public utility since 1929 and are sodium sulphide with low mineralisation, indicated for rheumatic processes and respiratory and otorhinolaryngological conditions. It is considered the oldest in Galicia, but at present the construction is completely new.
