It was built in the 16th century, replacing the original chapel that was dedicated to Saint Sebastian. At the end of the 18th century, beginning of the 19th century, it was destroyed and rebuilt a little further south, where it is currently located. In 1902, the chapel was renamed Nossa Senhora da Saúde, becoming the patron saint and being so to this day. Being the largest green space in Esposende, in addition to the chapel and its devotion, the number of visitors to this place is large, both for the chapel and for picnics and walks. It also has a bandstand, as well as a fountain.
