It consists of three walled enclosures where the archaeological excavations are bringing to light the different constructions that can be observed during the visit. The materials obtained in the excavations are studied and exhibited in the Archaeological and Historical Museum Castelo de San Antón, among them, the collection of golden pieces known as the “Tesouro de Elviña”.
Castro de Elviña is a protohistoric settlement that was inhabited between the third century B.C. and the fourth century A.D. The enclosure consists of three walled areas. The croa, or higher area, is surrounded by a wall 4 or 5 m high and in its interior there are small buildings. The lower terraces show walls of smaller dimensions and various buildings, such as the singular well-cellar.
It has been declared Ben de Interese Cultural (BIC).
