The Forjães Cultural Centre is located in the former Rodrigues de Faria Schools, which were built in the 1920s.
In 2001, the primary school closed and the building became the seat of the parish council and cultural centre. The interior of the building is decorated with a rich collection of tiles by Jorge Colaço evoking the great deeds of the Portuguese homeland. The tiles were made in Forjães between March and September 1933. The themes are Camões and the Lusiads, The Tritão, The Christian Pilot, the Discovery of Brazil, Africa and the East and The Great Battles. In addition to the panels, Portuguese writers and personalities are represented on the posters.
