Located in the Leather Zone, in the Old Tanning Factory Âncora – hence the choice of name “Curtir Ciencia” –, it is a new centre of attraction. The result of the collaboration between the City Council of Guimarães, the University of Minho and the National Network of Living Science (which coordinates 20 centres throughout the country), “Curtir Ciência” offers a permanent exhibition with interactive modules covering areas such as Electronics and Instrumentation, Robotics, Recycling, Engineering or Communications, without forgetting the evocation of the pre-industrial activity of tanneries. Side by side, in an emblematic area of the city, the memory of a thousand-year-old activity and new technologies at the service of Science coexist.
