Lighthouses are light guides used by sailors to orient themselves at night and the siren tower is the sound signals that guide them on foggy days. This sound signal is emitted through large holes arranged along the tower that is very close to the lighthouse, but we have bad news… it is currently in disuse.
Few people know that in 1867, the Corrubedo lighthouse was exhibited as one of the wonders of the world at the Universal Exhibition in Paris, in the Champ de Mars, inaugurated by the imperial couple of Napoleon III and Eugenia de Montijo.
This is one of the places chosen by different directors of many famous audiovisual creations but also by lovers of wild nature. Stormy days are a privileged place for unique snapshots.
