FunLab Planet Savers is a scientific and environmental education space installed in the former Luílhas primary school, in the parish of Monte/Queimadela.
The project, developed by the Junta União de Frequesias Monte e Queimadela, with the support of Sol do Ave – Association for the Integrated Development of the Vale do Ave, PT 2020, the European Union and the Municipality of Fafe, presents an innovative approach to environmental education, providing visitors with an interactive and immersive experience, using augmented reality.
Regarding the themes to be addressed, and in addition to the obvious thematic centrality of the environment and climate change, the tourism and leisure aspects are also explored, in addition to their important educational component.
To this end, interactive exhibition modules, study and animation areas were created in the building to ensure a diversity of experiences ranging from augmented reality to physical interaction, competitive games and practical workshops.
FunLab Planet Savers is available for school visits and the general public.
