The largest park in Vigo is Castrelos. Called Castrelis since the 13th century, it now covers 220,000 m². In addition to the pleasure of strolling along its paths, next to the Lagares River, the park houses the Pazo Quiñones de León Museum. It is the typical place for Vigo residents to celebrate civil weddings and offers visitors well-kept French and English-style gardens, full of the romanticism of bygone eras.
Castrelos is also a park for sportsmen: there is a track with markings for training and numerous routes for running. And it is also one of the best places in Vigo to go with children, thanks to its huge playground and its lake with ducks and swans.
The Castrelos auditorium, a beautiful open-air amphitheater, is the epicentre of music in Vigo every summer: the most multitudinous concerts in the city are organised here.
