The San Sebastian Bridge is also known as the “Games Bridge” and the “Roman Bridge”. The origin of its names is curious: “Ponte de S. Sebastião” due to its proximity to the old Chapel of S. Sebastião, “Ponte dos Jogos” due to the unevenness of the pavement, and “Ponte Romana” due to popular belief.
This small architectural gem has medieval origins and was built in “xisto”.
