Quinta dos Capuchinhos is not just a farm. It’s all about the lush woodland, with classic English inspiration, that surrounds the Quinta. And that’s all the way to get to the coat of arms, placed at the entrance to the house. There are the portals, the chapel, the gardens and the fountains built in the 18th century. An entire complex, built in the first half of the 18th century by the Castro Pereira family. This is also where the Seraphic Seminary of the Friars Minor Capuchin has been located since 1958.
The grand staircase takes us to the house, shaped like a letter: L. It has baroque lines, stucco ceilings and tile paneling. The original fireplace can still be found in the dining room.
To enter the Chapel, dedicated to Our Lady Mother of Men, you have to walk through a wall until you reach the gate, crowned by a coat of arms. There is an 18th century garden and a fountain. A sumptuous fountain, with a baroque taste, to discover on the other side of the gate. It is believed that the Chapel was built during the construction of the manor house.
