The fully restored Teatro Cine is one of the main architectural attractions of the city of Fafe, constituting an important cultural landmark at the time of its restoration in 1923, having been considered one of the best theatres in the north of the country. Its façade, with an unusual decoration and certainly unique in the region, is beautifully carved. Painted in pink and with drawings of winged cupids, as if symbolizing the love of the arts, the façade bears the date 1923, below the name “Teatro-Cine”, which refers to the completion of the restoration works, not to its inauguration, registered the following year.

This work marks the end of the initiatives of the “Brazilians” of Fafe and their descendants, closing the cycle of emigration to Brazil, a land of rapid enrichment. The interior architecture is horseshoe-shaped, with a vaulted ceiling and decorated with pictorial motifs alluding to famous musicians, as well as the image of the firmament.
