Opened in 2015, the Cruise Terminal of the Port of Leixões is already one of the most iconic buildings in the region, and has won important international awards. Designed by the Portuguese architect Luís Pedro Silva, it stands out for its unusual lines and curved façade, made up of a million irregular hexagonal tiles. It has a dock for cruise ships up to 320m long.

It also houses the Marine Sciences Centre of the University of Porto.
