The Maia Municipal Services Tower, Lidador Tower, inaugurated on 9 July 2001, is an emblematic work of this municipality and the dynamism of its people, representing the opening of a new cycle of progress and development.
With the primary objective of installing municipal services, the Tower represents a decisive event in a process of sustainable development, unparalleled in our country. The Lidador Tower is a landmark in the city, measuring 92 metres in height, being the fifth tallest building in the country and the tallest outside the city of Lisbon, and is visible from any of the ten parishes in the municipality.
The Tower, designed by architect António Machado, represents a reference, not only geographical, but illustrative of development, work capacity and entrepreneurial spirit. It represents the transparency and openness of Local Power, the accessibility of the Maia City Council to citizens. It is an open and transparent work space.
