Clearly popular among the city of Gaia and Porto, it takes place on the night of the 23rd to the 24th of June. On  this night, the population  goes into the streets with typical utensils of this festivity:  the leek and the hammer of Saint John.

All over the city crowds form and, singing and dancing, parade through the streets, pausing from time to time to eat the traditional grilled sardines and the Caldo Verde (green soup). On the 24th, (a municipal holiday), the Rabelo Boats Regatta takes place.
