The International Folclore do Rio Festival has been held since 1980, on a stage set up on the banks of the Cávado river, in the magnificent surroundings of the historic area of ​​Barcelos, where the colors and cultures of those who visit us parade, in a harmonious movement of clothing and dances. .

The best folklore in the world is present, annually in the summer, at each edition of the Rio Festival, organized by the Barcelinhos Folklore Group.

The International Folclore do Rio Festival is one of the most important among the nine that take place in Portugal within the scope of CIOFF (International Council for the Organization of Folklore and Traditional Arts Festivals), an international organization that oversees the quality of this and other festivals.
