The first phase of the works on the Corgo Natural Routes is now complete. The route has been open to the public since 20 November 2020 and stretches for approximately 1 km, between Bairro dos Ferreiros and Vila Velha. When the entire project is completed, the routes will connect the two sides of the city through a chosen urban green space, which is the Corgo Park, and will connect the city centre to the largest Iberian botanical garden, the UTAD Eco Campus. They will also allow you to enjoy the natural beauty and biodiversity that characterise that area of the city. The future museum space of the Biel Power Plant, recognised as one of the first plants to supply the country’s public network, will be one of the great beneficiaries of this intervention which foresees the recovery of the access roads to the plant, making it a mandatory crossing point.
