The program “7 Pleasures of Barcelos Gastronomy”, promoted by the City Council, involves the sectors of catering, hospitality, and wine products, with a set of parallel activities ranging from street entertainment to crafts, including environmental walks, thematic routes, and hiking trails.
The initiative, which is a great way to promote traditional Barcelos cuisine, will take place throughout the year, starting in February with the Cávado River Lamprey weekend, in which 17 catering units will participate. It is followed, in March, by the Gastronomic Week of Galo, Rojões, and Papas de Sarrabulho. In May, the Codfish Weekend follows, and in July, the Petiscos Weekend,
In autumn, the “Roast Rooster Contest” is held, with the Pica no Chão Weekend scheduled for November. Finally, the “7 Pleasures of Gastronomy” close with the Barcelos Doce pastry contest “Christmas Temptations” in December.
