Over four days, from 19 to 22 September, Barcelos takes a trip back in time and goes back to the Middle Ages, through the IX edition of Barcelos Cidade Medieval, this year under the theme “Barcelos on the Camino de Santiago”.

The initiative focuses on the City Park, where during this period you can find artisans of various arts and crafts, merchants and tavern keepers, entertainment with heralds, medieval tournaments (jousts), fire shows, fires, demonstrations of birds, reptiles and other animals , and also presentations by music, theater and medieval dance groups.

The Barcelos Cidade Medieval event is the result of a joint initiative between the City Hall and the Burgo Divido Association, and aims to boost the city’s attractiveness and, at the same time, provide visitors with good moments of socialization, conviviality and fun.

The Medieval City can be visited on Thursday and Friday, from 6pm to midnight; and Saturday and Sunday, from 12pm to midnight.
