The Dorna Festival is one of the most forceful and prolific expressions of festive originality in the world. In its more than 70 years of existence it has shaped an impressive range of activities of the most singular and its history reflects that the promoters seem to have a tireless and insatiable innovative spirit. All for the party.
As golden activities, full of irony and wit, we can find the ‘Gala dance’, ‘Skippers exam’, ‘Top Secret’, ‘Race of boats made by hand and propelled with millet bread’, ‘Sertame itinerante de canción de tasca’, ‘Enjalanamento de fanequeiras’, ‘Jran premio Ícaro de vó sin motor’, ‘Romaría das peñas’ or the well-known ‘Jran Prix de carrilanas’ in which humor always prevails over speed. The great protagonists are the ‘peñas dorneiras’. Declared a Festival of Tourist Interest of Galicia, it takes place around the 24th of July.
