The work of visual artists Nuria Lago, Xosé Luís Otero and Francisco Remiseiro, in an exhibition curated by Carlos L. Bernárdez.
“The Shape of Time” presents the dialogue between three Galician artists: Nuria Lago, Xosé Luís Otero and Francisco Remiseiro and the space of the former Corpus Christi Convent, a space of great heritage interest that preserves layers of cultural memory. understanding this memory as an agent of the past, capable of projecting its effect in the present time.
Xosé Luís Otero starts from an attitude associated with the reflection on the meaning of the human. Circularity, the search for balance and collective memory, with its anthropological connotation linked to Galician tradition, are characteristics of his work.
The work of Francisco Remiseiro has its roots in the sculpture of religious images, with the strength of direct carving and allegorical content. These are pieces that revalidate and alter the sculptural heritage, such as the representation of the crucifixion, the reliquary sculpture or the polyptych worked in relief.
Finally, the painter Nuria Lago shows works marked by abstract language, reflecting in her canvases the vital process and the emotional state and creating a world of unfathomable and paradoxical landscapes, connecting with the most intimate feelings.
The three artists confront creation with formulas of intense experiential content, in dialogue with this agential time, evident in the Corpus Christi Space, verifying a revealing interrelation.
