The 31st edition of the “Festa do Pan de Cea”, a famous gastronomic event in the town of San Cristobo de Cea, Ourense, which will take place on July 7, 2024, and promises a great day of traditional flavors, musical and cultural activities. The undisputed star of the festival is the Pan de Cea, an artisanal bread that deserves recognition not only in Galicia but throughout Spain.

This festival has its roots in the baking tradition of the region, highlighting the effort and dedication of two local bakers who keep this culinary heritage alive. At the start of the festival, around 1:00 PM, the preparations are left behind, and the heralds announce the beginning of the tasting. The dinner bread is eaten with typical Galician dishes, such as Galician Veal, Galician Ham, all accompanied by local wines, Galician Honey, Spirits, and Liqueurs. Music is an essential part of this festival.

Throughout the day, bands and groups of traditional Galician music enliven the streets and squares of San Cristovo de Cea, creating a festive and joyful atmosphere that invites everyone to participate. In the evening, the festival continues with a tasting of bread and sausages accompanied by wine, the perfect moment to gather with friends and family and enjoy the festive atmosphere. The evening continues with a popular dance that lasts until the early hours of the morning, celebrating a day full of tradition and flavor.
