The September festivities are in honour of San Cibrán, the town’s patron saint. The festivities last for five days, with each one starting at dawn, practically without respite. Bagpipe groups, popular music bands, orchestras, charangas, star performances, fireworks, fairground attractions and sports competitions, among other activities, change the landscape of O Carballiño, even its street appearance, leaving no room for monotony.
The central days – the fair on the 16th and the San Cibrán festival on the 17th – see the greatest concentration of activities and people. Above all, the fire sessions and the performances of the most popular groups and singers attract attention, always at night in the Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Emigrante.
