It includes the municipalities that encompass the regions of A Fonsagrada and Os Ancares: Baleira, Baralla, Becerreá, Cervantes, A Fonsagrada, Navia de Suarna, Negueira de Muñiz, As Nogais, and Pedrafita do Cebreiro. To these, the municipalities of Ribeira de Piquín, Pol, Meira, Sarria, and Láncara are added. From a geographical point of view, we are faced with a territory marked by great contrasts, resulting in a mosaic of landscapes that combines mountainous areas (A Fonsagrada, Negueira de Muñiz, and Os Ancares) with agricultural valleys such as

Meira, Pol, and Sarria, where the presence of rivers like the Miño, Eo, and Navia dominates. The altitudinal fluctuations are notable, ranging from over 1900 meters at Pico Mustallar to an average of 450/500 meters in the surroundings of the municipalities of Pol and Meira.

The natural heritage values are evident in the various protection figures that represent international recognition of the natural habitats of the destination, exemplified in the Biosphere Reserves of Terras do Miño, Ancares Lucenses, and Montes de Cervantes Navia y Becerreá and Eo, Oscos, and Terras de Burón, which host natural spaces such as the Serra de Meira and others protected under the Natura 2000 Network: Carballido, A Marronda, Negueira, Ancares, and Cruzul-Agüeira and Rio Eo.

Regarding cultural heritage, the highlights are the examples of popular architecture that reflect traditional life in the Lucense mountain, such as the pallozas of Piornedo and O Cebreiro, the hórreos, alvarizas, and ouriceiras.

As a testimony to medieval splendor, vestiges of fortresses have reached our days that allow us to reconstruct the mark of noble families such as the Counts of Altamira, Valcárcel, and Counts of Sarria: the fortress of the village of Burón, Navia Castle, Doncos Tower, Doiras Castle, Torés Tower, Sarria Tower. Of the religious heritage, the Cistercian church of Santa María de Meira, the church of Santa María a Real do Cebreiro, the church of Santo André in Las Nogais, the convent of Penamaior in Becerreá, or the churches of San Salvador and Santiago de Barbadelo in Sarria stand out.

Additionally, the Primitive and French Routes of Santiago, declared World Heritage, structure the territory and act as a guiding thread between the landscape and its historical and heritage legacy.

Regarding intangible heritage, the gastronomic events that pay homage to local products such as the androlla of Navia de Suarna, the cheese of O Cebreiro, the butelo of A Fonsagrada, the empanada in Las Nogais, the wine of Negueira de Muñiz, or the Galician veal of Láncara stand out.
