The former Sarria preventive prison, located in the province of Lugo, is a place that evokes mixed emotions.
Built of stone and with imposing architecture, its high walls and narrow cells tell stories of a dark past. As you walk through its corridors, you can feel the oppression and anguish that prisoners once experienced. However, despite its historical burden, the place has been rehabilitated and converted into a cultural and memorial space.
Now, it houses exhibitions and activities related to Galician history and culture, being a living testimony of a painful period but also of overcoming and transformation.
