The Alameda dos Descobrimentos Gardens are the result of a planned urban action that aimed to establish the transition between the urban fabric of the old consolidated core of the city and the new urban expansion zone. Likewise, it was intended to open the city center to the river.
It is a green “corridor”, of physical and visual enjoyment, in which the primary ecological functions integrate the recreational, recreational and movement of people components.
In this garden, we can enjoy the green space and the set of fountains along the entire “corridor”, as well as enjoy the café and terrace located there.
The construction of this space dates back to the beginning of the nineties and was designed by Landscape Architect Manuel Sousa da Câmara.
