Established in the castle keep of Bragança, of a quadrangular form, 17 meters wide and 33 meters high, the Military Museum opened on August 2nd, 1983.
The museum occupies the whole interior of the keep, distributed throughout five floors, presenting a collection about the light weaponry used by the portuguese army between the 12th century and the first half of the 20th century.
Simultaneously, there are exhibitions of objects gathered during the military campaigns that took place in Africa.
