In the municipality of Bragança, in the village of Parada de Infanções, we find the only wine produced in the area (Do Joa). The vineyards are centuries-old, many pre-phylloxera and resistant to phylloxera, on their own roots, over 130 years old, where about 20 different varieties abound. Due to the age of the vineyard and the traditional processes of grafting and cutting, it is possible to find different varieties on a single vine, making the winemaking process even more interesting and the final result a distinctive product, with a peculiar and very curious complexity. The soils are slate, at an altitude of 800 meters, and have a climate with large thermal amplitudes during the grape ripening phase, which favors the presence of high phenolic compounds.
